What to expect in Malaysia

Malaysia is situated in Southeast Asia and occupies parts of the Malay Peninsula (West Malaysia) and the island of Borneo (East Malaysia). Known for its rainforests, beaches and diverse cultural influences, Malaysia has a mix of the modern world and a developing nation.

Malaysia’s official religion is Islam. Also present are Hindu and Buddhist populations and Chinese Malaysian following Taoist and Confucianist traditions. Bahasa Melayu (Malay) is the national and official language, though English is widely spoken.

Malaysia’s urbanised capital, Kualar Lumpur is a must see, along with the tropical islands such as the Perhentian islands, Langkawi, Tioman, Redang and the Cameron Highlands.
